We were invited to conduct a workshop for the teachers at My First Skool last Saturday! It was Principal Fiona's gift to all the teachers.
Teaching a group is never easy, and it was a big group of 18 participants! Especially for participants who have never crocheted before, it was a huge task to teach how to hold the hook the yarn, and how to make single crochet.
However, as things started moving along, some participants were able to continue on their own and started to gather around our instructor, Clarise, to find out what to do next.
Its tough to synchronise learning in a big group, since everyone learns at a different pace. So we first teach the group the basics, and then we help everyone individually. It's very tiring but worth it when we see participants progressing and eventually see completed dolls.
It was a workshop from 11am-3.30pm and Clarise barely had time to take a sip of water + gobble down a piece of soon kueh. But how satisfying it is to see everyone working on their dolls and helping one another.
Although not everyone managed to finish their dolls, but we look forward to helping them through our after-class support.
